About Me
My name is Suzanne Powell, and my path has always been shaped by curiosity first in science, then in medicine, and now in the way we understand the everyday products we use. I began my academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Iowa State University, graduating with distinction.
That led me to MIT for a Ph.D. in Chemistry, and later to postdoctoral research in Human Genetics at Harvard Medical School. My passion for understanding complex biological systems took root there, especially in how rare and chronic conditions manifest at the molecular level.
For more than a decade, I worked at Shire Human Genetic Therapies (formerly Transkaryotic Therapies), eventually serving as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Program Management.
My role involved navigating the long, rigorous path of rare disease treatments from lab discovery to patient access. That experience shaped how I approach both science and leadership: strategically, patiently, and always with the end-user in mind.

Over the years, I’ve led several biotech companies including Promedior, Proclara Biosciences, and Tiaki Therapeutics. At Promedior, I was fortunate to help broker a $1.25 billion strategic partnership with Bristol-Myers Squibb focused on fibrotic disease treatments. At Tiaki, I worked with an incredible team to explore microglial-driven neuroinflammation research with real potential for diseases like Alzheimer’s. I’ve also served on the boards of multiple public biotech firms, and in 2023, I took on a new role as CEO of the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, a cause I care deeply about.
Then came 2025 a year that marked a new chapter for me. After years of overseeing therapies and technologies meant for long-term outcomes, I began writing more directly to individuals. I started this platform to share honest, experience-based insights into everyday products whether it’s health devices, wellness supplements, home tech, or skincare formulas. My goal is to bridge the gap between industry know-how and personal decision-making.
Everything I write here is shaped by the same principles that guided my work in biotech: scientific clarity, practical value, and transparency. I believe people deserve to know not just what to buy or use, but why it works and what to watch out for. From product performance to ingredient safety, I dig deep so you don’t have to.
